The distilled water is acidic water
The distilled water is neutral just after the distillation, thereafter it tends to absorb the carbon dioxide (CO2) from the air and turns acidic, so if you still want to drink the distilled water, keep it in a closed bottle.
There are researches that prove that the best possible water for human consumption is alkaline water since the healthily human body is alkaline. To maintain the alkalinity level, the minerals like magnesium and calcium playing a big role in the human body because they are helping to maintain and balance the alkalinity in the body. The distilled water is aggressive solvent and acidic. If you drink the distilled water on a daily basis, it can start to reduce the amount of calcium and magnesium in the body. The human body is very clever. For example, if the car is short of gasoline, it stops, but it doesn’t happen with the human body. If some minerals are missing, the body starts to withdraw them from the skeleton. There are also clinical observations that show that for the people who drink the distilled water in a long term run, most of them have mineral deficiencies, which result in skeleton problems and higher risk of cardiovascular disease, especially coronary heart disease and hypertension. The same is true for the people who drink a lot of commercial beverages and soft drinks like cola, etc. because they are highly acidic. Studies have shown that their urine contains a huge amount of calcium, magnesium and other trace elements.
Which water to drink?
Many people still want to use the distilled water for drinking and think that it is the best choice, but it’s not. Mineral salts and trace elements are essential components of the food necessary for normal functioning of the human body. The demand for them is satisfied also by drinking of water. The water is not the only one which is supplying the recommended daily dosage of minerals and trace elements, the food we eat is also important, at least water with minimal mineral content is not aggressive and acidic.
Drinking water should contain at least the minimum amount of essential minerals and trace elements. Unfortunately, in the past two decades, researchers have barely paid attention to the favorable effects of water and its protective properties, as they were involved into the problem of toxic substances, pollutants. From here came the myth of the distilled water for drinking.
The distilled water lacks important minerals and isn’t the perfect product. That’s why the regular consumption of distilled water does not provide the body with adequate consumption of some important nutrients. Earlier studies, both animal experiments and clinical observations of the effect of distilled water on health, gave comparable results. This is also confirmed by modern research.
Enough data are collected to confirm that the lack of calcium and magnesium in the water does not pass without consequences. There is evidence that it leads to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and sudden death. This relationship has been described in many works independently of each other. Furthermore, the studies were constructed in different ways and carried out in different regions, concerned different population and time periods. Therefore, continuous long-term drinking of distilled water is not only not helpful, but is even harmful, because it can adversely affect the health.
